Do This Exercise to Learn What You Really Want

Today, we’ll delve a bit deeper into the life you really want to live.

First though, let’s recap the previous emails….

Email #1 Recap – The BIG AHA

The key lesson -> If you want to find out what you really want, you need to give yourself the space to contemplate that. The audio program is a mini exercise to help with that.

Email #2 Recap – Case Studies

With the case studies, we discovered how important it was to have a clear picture for where you want to go next. Jay knew he wanted to travel again, John worked out that he wanted to work in mental health and after some research, Barry set his sites on a materials testing position.

I believe what you do to earn money (I’m not going to use the w-word) is integral to your life. You need to consider life as a whole for good wellbeing and living an enjoyable, thriving life.

To that end, I’m going to ask you 10 questions about how you want your life to be that you may not have thought of during the audio program session (which I hope you’ve had time to complete, by the way.)

IMPORTANT -> Remember to think about the ‘what’ not the ‘how’ – we don’t want to discount anything here. Too often we let our “how” interrupt. So suspend any concern about how it will happen.

Pro tip: Answer these once you are feeling relaxed (or maybe excited!). You can go for a walk in a relaxing setting first or maybe do the first part of the audio program – up until the questions.

Here are the questions:

  1. What do you want your health to be like? Write down five details that would describe it (this is the work).
  2. How do you want your relationship to be with your partner / spouse? Again, try to outline five specifics.
  3. What do you want to do socially on a regular basis? Give me five activities that fulfill you.
  4. What’s the one activity that you do where you completely lose track of time?
  5. What would you do if money was no object? Really dream it up with five things, even if they seem impossible.
  6. Following on from the last question – can you really play golf all day every day? 😜
  7. If you could live anywhere, where would that be? (General answers like close to a beach, near a forest, etc. are acceptable here.) Give me five reasons WHY there?
  8. What is something you have always wanted to try but just haven’t? Can you think of two more items to add?
  9. If you were to volunteer for a cause, what cause would that be?
  10. When you are most relaxed, what activity are you doing and where? Can you name two more?

Post your biggest or most surprising finding along with something you found challenging about this process, in the comments below.
